Timely 4 Day Delivery - Great Price - Purchased Used & Arrived In Very Good Condition

4 STARS - Primarily because I only do basic repairs on my 1999 3.3L Grand Caravan and total cost for two books used was $15.00. I decided to purchase both the Haynes & Chilton manuals USED and reference both to help me attempt repairs within my limitations before hiring mechanics that charge more than my vehicle is worth just to replace Valve Cover Gaskets, a few Sensors, Brake Jobs, etc. I'm no mechanic - just mechanically inclined so these books are good enough for me. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED BOTH MANUALS HAVEN'T IMPROVED MUCH AT ALL SINCE I WAS IN MY EARLY 20's - I'm now 63yrs old.

Pretty much useless, as are most aftermarket "manuals."

I should have known better than to expect this manual to be the exception. It's got tons of useless filler, the same generic boilerplate padding that they put in all of their manuals. I tried the book for three different common issues with the car and none was addressed well enough to help at all. The book contains a huge chapter on overhauling the automatic transmission, which is something that probably nobody would ever attempt, but then when you look up simple maintenance items it tells you that this is too technical and you should take it to the dealer. Way to go, Chilton.
