Currently a QA Engineer in CEO Consultancy-Malaysia with great passion for testing, she has two years of experience in software testing and managing QA activities. She is an experienced manual tester and has practical knowledge of various open-source automation tools and framework, including JMeter, Selenium, JProfiler, Badboy, Sahi, Watij and many more.

If you are looking for something latest JMeter book then don't buy this book.

Recently I started working on JMeter test-plan development. I realized there are hardly any book available. I found this book on Amzon and purchased it immediately(didn't even care to look into review comments given by others). Once it arrived, I realized that this book is really old version. It was written in 2008 when JMeter(1.0) was initially released since then JMeter has release 30+ version. As of 05/30/2013 JMeter latest version is 2.9. I would recommend to check JMeter manual it has more updated information than this book.

Not much more information than the manual

The author should either update the title ( maybe add a few more chapters ) or lower the price a bit.
I've worked with JMeter before but I never look into the documentation. The JMeter manual was not very helpful and I thought if someone reworded it a bit I'd have a decent intro. Well this is exactly what this book is. Not bad if you really need to start with JMeter and not sure where to begin.
The entire book can be read in about 30 minutes if you're comfortable with basic testing concepts.

The online manual is just as good

Unless you want something paper in front of you, don't bother with this book. It is very short and 80% of the content is covered in the Getting Started manual. If you really just want to learn the basics of Jmeter I guess it would be a good book, but other than that it is not worth the crazy price of admission. The illustrations would done well and the font was nice and large - but that somewhat irritated me also, given how small the book was, so I felt I got more ripped off.
