Falls short of expectations

Short on details and fundamentals. Even as an overview (which is its intent) it doesn't really reach that aim - providing only a cursory 'coverage'. This book was supposed to have been written as part of the Introductory course into Actuarial Studies at The University of Melbourne (Economics Dept) - it falls short in providing students with a sound grounding in the basics. Given its cost, it was a disappointment. However, a nice aspect of the book is the fact that it provided solutions.
