Now I understand how Einstein became Einstein

With so many Einstein books available, the choice is not obvious. This book explains how Einstein achieved the unimaginable, from his study of the work of others, to turbulence in his personal life, to his personality and character. Langerstrom avoids the many clich�s about Einstein's youth. He relies on established, provable truth, rather than on legend. He shows long years of preparation culminating in a sudden breakthrough. I was convinced. It's a book for those with a serious interest in Einstein, not for a casual reader. It's a book to be studied. There's arcane material about other scientists that some readers will likely skip over. Respectfully disagreeing with other Amazon reviewers, I found the writing to be clumsy, uneven in tone and usage. Langerstrom is not a journalist. He's a physicist, and a very good one.

Concise and informative

A well written short introduction to the life of Albert Einstein. This book is an optional companion to a course on coursera. Seeing as it is rather short but packs a lot of content, I'd recommend this to anybody who is interested in one of the world's greatest minds.
